About The Practice
This website is for both existing patients and those considering registering with us. It tells you about our services, how to access them and some general information about how our practice operates.
The Halliwell Surgery is a purpose built building situated near to the town centre of Bolton.
Our team includes two GP Partners, one salaried GP, GP Trainees, Practice Manager, Practice Nurse, Health Care Assistant as well as our reception and secretarial staff. We also have a Health Improvement Practitioner, Pharmacist, Mental Health Practitioner and a MSK Practitioner. We aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. When you telephone us, our staff will identify themselves on the telephone.
We offer a full general practice service and run chronic disease clinics for diabetes, asthma COPD, IHD, and hypertension. We have a Nurse to give childhood immunisations on Tuesday mornings.
Our surgery is also a “training practice”. As a training practice, you could sometimes be asked to have one of these doctors “sitting in” the consultation with your usual GP. We also, occasionally have Medical Students here with us.
If you live in our practice area and would like to register with us, please ask at Reception for one of our registration forms. You will be registering with the practice rather than an individual GP and we cannot guarantee appointment availability for any preferred GP.
Access
Our surgery is accessible for patients using a wheelchair. We also have two parking spaces outside our building, reserved for patients displaying a disabled sticker.
